Troop  Camps Programme

The young leaders instructed and assisted the scouts with their cycle maintenace.

At our last meeting on 5th October we had a visit from a Canadisn Scout leader, from 1st Courtland Scout Group, Ontario. We were able to compare how we run scouts with the way scouts is run in Canada which turns out to be very similar. It was surprising to find that our kneckers are the same colours, ours is green with a yellow edge while his is yellow with a green edge.We exchanged scout handbooks and badges. I am impressed with the Canadian scout handbook and field book and hope we can use some of the activities in our own programme. We will keep in touch and hopefully one day we will be able to visit him in Canada.

On the 1st April we started on the Fitness Challemge in preparation for the Expedition Challenge to complete the Lyke Wake Walk. We completed an 8 mile walk from Boltby to Sutton Bank visitor centre and back again in 4 hours which included time for lunch and to invest 4 new scouts. We had very good weather and all the scouts completed the walk without too much trouble.

Another Scout Leader gets invested.
